The “Under the Bridge” rockers played a surprise show during a weekend benefit concert for the Tony Hawk Foundation, which included a cover the Iggy Pop classic “I Wanna Be Your Dog.”  The skateboarding legend himself tweeted video of the performance.

However, the show didn’t feature all four current Chili Peppers. Drummer Chad Smith was absent, so Jane’s Addiction‘s Stephen Perkins handled the kit. To see all four guys back in action, the first official RHCP show of 2020 takes place in May at Alabama’s Hangout festival.

News of Frusciante’s return was announced last December, 10 years after he left the Peppers for the second time back in 2009. For the last decade, guitar duties had been handled by Josh Klinghoffer, who’s now left the band due to Frusciante’s reinstatement.
