Blondie, Devo among the many New Wave acts playing L.A.-area Cruel World Festival in May

Courtesy of GoldenvoiceBlondie and Devo are part of the expansive lineup of the inaugural Cruel World festival, a one-day concert extravaganza celebrating the New Wave scene of the late ’70s and ’80s, scheduled for May 2 near Los Angeles.

The event will be headlined by ex-Smiths singer Morrissey and goth-rock legends Bauhaus. The bill also includes Echo & the Bunnymen, The Psychedelic Furs, Violent Femmes, Berlin, English Beat, Public Image Ltd., Gary Numan, The Church, Soft Cell frontman Marc Almond and Missing Persons, among many others.

Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public this Friday, February 14, at 12 p.m. PT. Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, February 13, at 12 p.m. PT. You can register for the pre-sale now at CruelWorldFest.com.

The festival will take place at The Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park in the L.A. suburb of Carson, California.
