The Rotary Club of Mountain Home heard a presentation about Grandma’s House Children’s Advocacy Center (GHCAC) headquartered in Harrison at a meeting earlier this month.

Rotarian of the Day was Marcia Taylor who introduced Cody Tatum from GHCAC. Tatum explained the organization’s mission was to give a voice to children who need to express their fears and concerns in a “safe place for hope and healing.”

Another new member, Brandon Scallion, sponsored by Wes Wood, was added to the Rotary roll and inducted by past President Stewart Brunner.

There was also a time for new member Trevor Himschoot to talk about what drew him to Rotary and for long-time member Barney Larry to discuss why he’d remained in the club for over two decades.

Matt Taylor was elected to fill an unexpected vacancy on the board, with an election for next year’s board coming up in two weeks. Those terms will begin in July 2020.
