The U.S. Forest Service is continuing to prescribe burns in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forests. National forest fire managers will conduct two local burns in Izard and Searcy counties on Saturday.
One of the newest burns will be in the vicinity of Calico Rock, as 1,300 acres will be burned in the Sylamore Ranger District. Fire managers will also be in the vicinity of Witts Springs to burn another 500 acres in the Big Piney Ranger District.
