Several basketball teams in postseason play Saturday

High school basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule, as several teams will be in postseason play.

The 1A-2 District Tournament will come to an end with its championship games at Omaha. The girls’ game between Norfork and Viola tips off at 6 p.m., and Izard County’s boys face Western Grove at 7:20.

The title games of the 3A-1 East District Tournament will be held at Bergman. The girls’ contest between Mountain View and Valley Springs begins at 6, and the host Panthers will take on Valley Springs in the boys’ game at 7:30.

Rural Special’s girls will compete for the championship of the 1A-5 District Tournament hosted by Sacred Heart Catholic School in Morrilton. The Lady Rebels will play Greers Ferry West Side at 6 p.m.

The Harrison girls will play in the championship game of the 4A-1 District Tournament at Prairie Grove. The Lady Goblins will be paired with Farmington at 5:30.

District play will begin Saturday in Missouri, as two local girls’ teams begin action in the Class 2, District 10 Tournament at Cabool. Bakersfield faces top-seeded Hartville at noon, and Gainesville will take on the host school in a battle between Lady Bulldogs at 1:30.

The Class 1, District 4 Tournament will get underway at Norwood. Dora’s girls will play Niangua at 10 a.m. On the boys’ side, top-seeded Dora will be matched with Exeter at 2:30, and Lutie faces Bradleyville at 4.

Ava’s girls will be in Mountain Grove for their opener in the Class 3, District 4 Tournament. It will be a battle between Lady Bears, as Ava takes on Willow Springs at 1:30.
