The Ozark-St. Francis District of the USDA Forest Service is conducting a prescribed burn Thursday in the Norfork area.
The burn is planned to cover 190 acres of the forest. Citizens who see large amounts of smoke in the area should not be concerned.
A prescribed fire is one that is ignited by highly-trained fire personnel under specified fuel and weather conditions to achieve specific resource objectives.
