The Mountain Home Christian Academy varsity basketball teams were able to sweep the championships of the Ann Short Turner Community Center Invitational Tournament at Mansfield. Both teams started the tournament with winning their two pool games on Friday.
On the boys’ side, the Eagles began bracket play with a 63-35 win over Berean Christian Academy, and they later beat Maranatha 63-61 in the semifinals. Mountain Home Christian wrapped up the tournament by winning the title game 59-36 over Mid-Missouri. Caleb Spray led the Eagles with 15 points, Trenton Cox scored 12, Landon Jines had 11, and Philip Leone added 10 points. Mountain Home Christian will begin action in the National Christian School Athletic Association Tournament Thursday in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
The Lady Eagles began bracket play with a 39-34 win over Lebanon. Mountain Home Christian advanced to the title game and topped Berean Christian 51-42. The Lady Eagles were led by Caroline Robinson with 16 points, and Hayley Woods chipped in 13.
