High school basketball makes up the local Wednesday schedule, as state tournaments continue in Arkansas and Missouri.
The Class 1A State Tournament will resume at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy. In girls’ action, Mammoth Spring and Greers Ferry West Side tip off at 1 p.m., Norfork meets Concord at 4, and Rural Special faces Hillcrest at 7. On the boys’ side, Viola takes on Wonderview at 2:30, and Mammoth Spring plays Concord at 5:30.
Both of Flippin’s teams will be in Quitman for their openers in the Class 2A State Tournament. The Lady Bobcats will be paired with Des Arc at 7 p.m., and Flippin’s boys meet Pangburn at 8:30.
Two area teams will head to Charleston for their first games in the Class 3A State Tournament. The Mountain View girls face Helena-West Helena at 4, and Bergman’s boys take on Dumas at 8:30.
The Ava boys will be on the Missouri S&T campus in Rolla for their sectional game in the Class 3 State Tournament. The Bears will be matched with St. Pius X from Festus for a 7:45 tip-off at Gibson Arena.
