The Mountain Home Junior High track and field teams dominated the Junior Goblin Relays in Harrison Tuesday, bringing home a pair of first-place trophies.
On the girls’ side, top finishers from Mountain Home included:
-Emma Wilber won the high jump.
-Maranda Jones was third in the discus throw.
-Merritt McConnell finished second in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash.
-In the 800 meter run, Kamryn Mullin was second, and Chloe Lydon was third.
-Whitney Wilber was third in the 1600 meter run.
-Carson Schmitz was second in the 400 meter dash with McConnell fourth.
-The 4×100 meter relay team of Corena Fox, McConnell, Lily Hinson and Schmitz finished first.
-The 4×800 meter relay team of Lydon, Monica Chaffin, Mullin and Whitney Wilber finished first.
-The 4×400 meter relay team of Fox, Mullin, Emma Wilber and Schmitz finished first.
Some highlights from area schools:
-Fay Chism from Yellville-Summit won the 300 meter hurdles.
-Kinley Morris from Yellville-Summit was second in the triple jump, fourth in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the high jump.
-Yellville-Summit’s Abby Methvin was fourth in the triple jump.
-Flippin’s Kiley Johnson finished fourth in the 800 meter run and fifth in the triple jump.
-Yellville-Summit’s Olivia Layton tied for third in the pole vault.
-Paislee Hightower from Izard County finished second in the 100 meter hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles.
-Abbie Gilbert from Izard County finished fourth in the 200 meter dash
-The Izard County 4×800 meter relay team of Hightower, Lily Sanders, Gilbert and Ava Lewis was third.
-The Yellville-Summit 4×400 meter relay team of Chism, Sierra Burrow, Methvin and Addison Decker finished third.
On the boys’ side, top finishers from Mountain Home included:
-Dylan McBride won the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles and was second in the 200 meter dash.
-James Davis won the pole vault.
-Ty Lawrence won the 400 meter dash.
-Hendrix Hughes won the 1600 meter run.
-Ky Bickford won the 800 meter run.
-Robert Dover finished third in the long jump, third in the discus, fourth in the triple jump, fourth in the 100 meter hurdles and fifth in the high jump.
-Cody Elumbaugh was second in the shot put
-Tristen Hayes finished second in the 100 meter dash and fifth in the 300 meter hurdles.
-Shane Rowden was third in the shot put.
-William Cottengim was fourth in the 400 meter dash.
-The 4×800 relay team of Bickford, William Hill, Aidan Sanders and Lawrence finished first.
-The 4×400 relay team of Hughes, Cottengim, Dover and Lawrence finished first.
Some highlights from area schools:
-Yellville-Summit’s 4×800 relay team of Jaxton Decker, Cade Tilton, Tristen Teel and Robert Howell finished third.
-Dominic Sellers from Flippin was second in the 1600 meter run and the 800 meter run.
-Noah Stevenson from Izard County finished third in the 200 meter dash.
