LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – A former Arkansas House speaker will chair the state Highway Commission following the death of the panel’s previous leader. The Highway Commission on Monday elected Robert Moore as chairman. Moore replaces Chairman Tom Schueck, who died last week at the age of 78. Moore was appointed to the commission in 2013 by then-Gov. Mike Beebe and had been serving as the panel’s vice chairman. His term on the commission expires in January 2023. Moore served three terms in the Arkansas House and was speaker during the 2011 legislative session.
