Farmers and Merchants Bank has kicked off a new statewide musical initiative with a $75,000 donation to the City of Mountain Home to cover the cost of a bandshell at Hickory Park.

Brandon Scallion, market president for Farmers and Merchants, says it’s an honor and a pleasure to participate in exciting efforts to strengthen the Mountain Home community’s quality of life efforts. He adds the bank hopes Farmers and Merchants Bank Pavilion will be the host site for hundreds of joyful events over the years.

Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams says the donation will make a major impact in revitalizing the downtown area.

The bank’s new statewide initiative will support communities and schools across the state. The mission of the program – called Make Some Noise with Me – is to provide the means, information and other resources to restore, revitalize or initiate a variety of musical endeavors in cities and towns in the bank’s footprint.

“Few things in life lift the mood of a person or even an entire audience,” says Chief Marketing Officer Donna Kimes. “Most everyone enjoys music of some kind, and we understand how it brings people together in a unique and soulful way. We think the world can always use a little more than that.”

Hickory Park’s new bandshell will be the host of the Baxter Summer Concert Series presented by Baxter Healthcare and the City of Mountain Home’s A&P Commission.

Adams announced this week the Mountain Home Rotary Club has partnered with musical events the park will host.

The Rotary Club of Mountain Home helped found Hickory Park, the city’s first park. Rotary’s Renee Shockey says the partnership was a natural fit.
