Two people are being held in the Boone County Detention Center, after a woman reported four shots being fired from a vehicle in her direction as she stood outside her residence.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed this week, 20-year-old Louis Marcel Marcil and 24-year-old Sarah Ann Huffman, both of Green Forest, are being held in connection with the incident reported on March 20.

Law enforcement responded to a residence along State Highway 392 West in Batavia where a woman reported having stepped outside her residence to smoke and observed a red Mustang drive by with someone inside the vehicle discharging a weapon at least four times.

She told the investigator she believed someone was attempting to “take out” a registered sex offender living at the residence.

About 45 minutes later, an officer from the Green Forest Police Department reported having stopped the Mustang in response to an alert to area law enforcement agencies.

The Boone County investigator made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and determined Marcil was the driver, with Huffman a passenger.

Marcil allegedly advised he was driving, but said he “had nothing to do with the female discharging the firearm at the residence.” He said the firearm belonged to his grandmother. A description of the weapon was not included in the report.

Huffman reportedly told law enforcement she recalls firing four rounds from the weapon from the rear seat of the vehicle at the house.

She said the homeowner had kicked her out of the residence because his girlfriend has been released from jail, and “he did not need her there.”

At the Boone County Detention Center, Marcil allegedly told law enforcement he knew Huffman was going to shoot at the residence and slowed his vehicle allowing her to discharge the weapon.

Huffman is charged with felony counts of a terroristic act, unauthorized use of property, unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, possession of a firearm by certain person, meaning she is a convicted felon, and aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $200,000.
