An 18-year-old man is in the hospital and a male juvenile has been arrested following a shooting incident and manhunt in Mountain Home Thursday night. Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says a 16-year-old was arrested about 30 minutes after the shooting happened.

Chief Manuel says a 911 call came in at 11:42 Thursday night reporting a shooting at Clysta Willett Park on Rossi Road. The caller told dispatchers his friend had been shot, and the shooter had run into the woods. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male.

Officers from the Mountain Home Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police responded and found the suspect on Johns Drive in a nearby subdivision at 12:10 Friday morning.

The victim, who was shot in the leg with a handgun, was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.

No names have been released.

Chief Manuel says the investigation is continuing and more details are expected to be released later Friday.
