The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded contracts for its Southeast District projects, and three will be in Ozark County. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the projects were awarded during an electronic ballot process held in March.

Two projects in Ozark County were among the nine awarded to Pace Construction Company for a total of nearly $7 million. Pavement improvements will be conducted on Missouri Highway 142 staring at its junction with Missouri Highway 101 in Bakersfield and continuing until it meets Missouri Route E near Moody. Road construction is also set for Missouri Route J starting at the junction with U.S. Highway 160 and continuing to the state line where it becomes Arkansas Highway 201.

Route J will have another construction project as part of Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million “Focus on Bridges” program. Phillips Hardy, Inc., was awarded a contract of just under $1.5 million for a bridge replacement over Lick Creek. The governor’s program is set to repair or replace 250 bridges across the Show Me State.

Additional information, including timelines and impacts to traffic, will be released prior to the start of construction. For more information, contact MoDOT’s Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-888-ASK-MODOT (1-888-275-6636).
