Mallett led the Razorbacks to an 18-8 record in two seasons at the school after transferring from the University of Michigan. In 2009, the Hogs were 8-5 with Mallett at the helm and posted a victory over East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl. Mallett led the Hogs to a 10-3 season in 2010, an appearance in the Sugar Bowl and a top 15 finish in the final college football rankings of the season.

Arkansas fell 31-26 to Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl, before the Buckeyes were forced to vacate their entire season due to NCAA violations. Mallett would finish seventh in the 2010 Heisman Trophy voting.

Playing just three collegiate seasons because of his transfer from Michigan, the Texarkana, Texas, product remains at the top of the Arkansas career passing leaders.

The Batesville-born Mallett threw for 7,493 yards, 62 touchdowns and completed 60.3% of his passes for the Razorbacks. He ranks second in career passing yards, second in career touchdowns (62), fourth in total offense (7,390) and second in total touchdowns.

He still holds single-season records for passing yards (3,869), passing touchdowns (32), total offense (3,795) and total touchdowns (36).

Mallett turned pro after his redshirt junior year and was drafted in the third round (74th overall) by the New England Patriots, where he spent the first three seasons of his career, serving as Tom Brady’s backup in the final two seasons.

After being traded to the Houston Texans for a sixth-round draft pick, Mallett spent two years with the squad before being released. He played the final three seasons of his career in Baltimore, before leaving professional football after the 2017 campaign.

Mallett made eight career starts and appeared in 21 NFL games, completing 55.1% of his passes for 1,835 yards and nine touchdowns.
