Credit: Harry ReeseZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons has debuted a new high-def performance video for his 2018 solo song “Missin’ Yo’ Kissin'” on his official YouTube channel.

The clip features performance footage shot on November 11, 2018, at a show that Gibbons played with his solo group The BFG’s at the Aztec Theater in San Antonio. Last week, BFG’s drummer — and former Guns N’ Roses member — Matt Sorum remembered he had the unreleased video stored on a personal hard drive, and sent it to Gibbons, whose social media team posted it online.

Billy realized that the theme of “Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’,” which was written by his wife, Gillian Stillwater, seemed relevant at a time when so many are separated from loved ones during the COVID-19 lockdown.

“It’s fortuitous that Matt remembered the video and fished it out of his stick bag last week,” says Gibbons. “Now, more than ever, this is an exemplar of our go-to phrase, ‘Blues You Can Use.'”

In a separate note to fans, Billy writes, “In this temporary absence of raucous and rockin’ roadshow gatherings, here’s a little thing with a sneak peek to offer 3 minutes of bluesy-rock film entertainment for your viewing pleasure. ‘Missin’ Yo’ Kissin” is an understatement. We await the moment to resume sharing some more good times for our loyal friends, fans, and followers…pronto…Bueno…!”

Adds Sorum, “I hope this will get you dancing in your living room, kitchen or whatever floats your fancy. Can’t wait to see all your smilin’ faces live and in person soon!!! Till then…Keep rockin’!!!”

“Missin’ Yo’ Kissin'” is the lead track off of Gibbons’ 2018 solo album, The Big Bad Blues, which went on to win the Best Blues Rock Album honor at the 2019 Blues Music Awards.
