A Norfork area man, 63-year-old William Harvey Brown, has been arrested following a domestic incident at a residence on County Road 108 Monday afternoon in which he allegedly threatened to cut a woman’s throat and gut her. The woman was also arrested, but not until deputies had to search for her, after she left the scene because she reportedly had a warrant.

The incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office indicates officers were dispatched to the residence for a report of an intoxicated male armed with a knife. When the first deputy arrived, Brown walked out of the house and was placed in handcuffs. A female in the house, identified as 36-year-old Robin Lynn Smith, came out and began arguing with Brown. The deputy told her to stand by so he could place Brown in his patrol car, and he would then speak with her.

After returning to the house, the deputy said Smith was nowhere to be found. The deputy returned to his vehicle to ask Brown why Smith would leave, and he stated she has a warrant for her arrest. Two other deputies responded, and after a short search Smith was located.

Smith was able to provide the law enforcement officers with a video she made of the disturbance between the two. Some of the video was only audio, after the two had left the room where the phone was, but Smith could be heard telling Brown to “put the knife down.” The video shows him putting the knife away, but a few seconds later, he gets out the weapon, she yells for him to let go of her hair, and he then follows Smith through the house while commenting about “cutting her throat and gutting her.”

Brown is charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and first-degree terroristic threatening and a misdemeanor count of third-degree domestic battery. He is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on a $10,230 bond.
