Police say woman fires 2 rounds at boyfriend, tosses handgun in city manhole

A Fulton County woman, 39-year-old Fancy Taylor of Mammoth Spring, has been arrested and charged after she reportedly fired two rounds from a .380 semi auto handgun at her boyfriend before tossing the weapon in a manhole.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Tuesday, police responded to a domestic disturbance call reporting gunshots in late February in Mammoth Spring.

Upon arrival, they discovered an intoxicated female identified as Taylor on the porch of her residence along Walker Street. She reportedly first called 911 saying the noises heard were just fireworks.

She then said her boyfriend was breaking in, and she fired two rounds from a handgun at him. She then changed her story, saying she was down the street when she fired the weapon, but was “careful that the bullets didn’t go into anyone’s house.”

The weapon was located in a manhole on Walker Street, where Taylor allegedly tossed it. The firearm was loaded with a round in the chamber. Her boyfriend was located hiding at a friend’s house.

Taylor has been charged with a felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations.

She was released from jail on her own recognizance.
