As Missouri prepares for all businesses and social events to reopen Monday, the Taney County Health Department is advising an individual testing positive for COVID-19 visited two Theodosia businesses in late April.

In a letter Friday, the Taney County Health Department says its 12th case of COVID-19 is not associated with any other individuals testing positive to the virus. However, those in close contact with the individual are being notified by the health department and will be asked to quarantine. The 12th case individual visited two Theodosia businesses, Cash Saver, during the afternoon of April 25, and the ACE Hardware Store, during the afternoons of April 22, 23, 24 and 27.

Anyone who visited these locations during the indicated timeframe should monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days following the date of potential exposure. If symptoms develop, they should call their primary care physician.

COVID-19 symptoms include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and, new loss of taste or smell.

Earlier this week, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson says businesses and social events can reopen Monday, with certain social distancing requirements. Parson said citizens and businesses must continue to follow social distancing requirements, and local governments may impose stricter guidelines. There will be no limits on crowd sizes at social gatherings if 6 feet of distance can be maintained between individuals. And the governor said some businesses will need to take additional precautions, such as limiting occupancy.

Missouri has been under a stay-at-home order since April 6.
