A Lakeview man is accused of inappropriate contact with a teenager under his supervision. Thirty-seven-year-old Aaron Newby was arrested last Monday on a felony count of second-degree sexual assault.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the alleged 13-year-old victim was interviewed April 24 at a local child advocacy center and claimed the suspect, identified as Newby, has touched the juvenile inappropriately and has made the teen wash his back in the shower. The teen stated this occurred on multiple occasions, before the child ran away two days earlier.
Newby was interviewed later that day by a special agent with the Arkansas State Police. He reportedly denied touching the victim inappropriately, but admitted to hitting the child in a playful manner. He later said he touched the teen inappropriately by accident, but denied he had made the child wash his back in the shower.
Newby was released from the Baxter County Detention Center Thursday after posting a bond of $50,000.
