Credit: dhlovelifeNeil Young has posted the fourth installment of his recently announced “Fireside Sessions” performances in the “Hearse Theater” section of his Neil Young Archives website.
All of the videos have featured Young playing solo renditions of various songs from his back catalog — including many rarely performed tunes — at his residence in the Rocky Mountains, shot by his wife, actress Daryl Hannah.
The new session, which runs 37 minutes long, begins with Young playing an acoustic version of his 1992 song “One of These Days” while standing next to a fire pit on his property.
The action then moves indoors, where Young, sitting by his fireplace, plays his 1975 song “Through My Sails” sandwiched by a couple tunes from his 2000 Silver and Gold album — “Good to See You” and “Daddy Went Walkin’.”
Neil then moves over to piano and plays his 1970 classic “After the Gold Rush” and, following a mock commercial for water runs, a rendition of his 1990 tune, “Mother Earth.”
The scene switches back to the fire pit where, with the sun setting, Young plays another song from Silver and Gold, “Distant Camera.” The session’s last performance finds Young indoors at the piano again, where he plays “Are You Ready for the Country?” from his hit 1972 album, Harvest.
We also see footage of two of Young and Hannah’s dogs playing in a pond. As the video comes to an end, a message reveals that one of the dogs, Bear, has recently passed away.
You can still watch the first three episodes of Young’s “Fireside Sessions” on his Neil Young Archives website. On the same page of the site, Neil has premiered a new music video for “Off the Road,” a song from his 2009 album, Fork in the Road.
