Greg Gayne/FOXBret Michaels plans to reinvent the rock autobiography with his new book, Bret Michaels: Auto-Scrap-Ography Vol. 1.

Due out May 12, the Poison singer’s book features photos and handwritten stories collected over his 35-year career.  It details his rise from his humble beginnings in Pennsylvania, to his struggle with type 1 so-called juvenile diabetes, to his success in the music industry and, subsequently, in the world of reality TV and branding.

Bret Michaels: Auto-Scrap-Ography Vol. 1 also documents Michael’s charitable efforts, and doesn’t just end in the present day.  It goes right up to the minute, including his thoughts on the COVID-19 pandemic and his experiences this season on Fox’s The Masked Singer.

The book’s available digitally and as a softcover; the first hard-copy printing has already sold out.  That was no doubt to the fact that everyone who pre-ordered a copy was automatically entered to win Michaels’ custom “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” guitar, plus a $500 donation to the charity of their choice, a $100 credit at Bret’s merch store, and $500 case.

The next print edition will go into production as soon as it’s “medically safe to do so,” says the publisher.

Bret Michaels: Auto-Scrap-Ography Vol. 1 is available only at ShopBretMichaels.com.
