
Mountain Home Police are releasing very few details about a shooting incident Monday night that has claimed one life. Police Chief Carry Manuel said late Tuesday morning the victim of the shooting is a 67-year-old man. His name is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin. The victim’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The name of a man taken into custody Monday night in connection with the shooting is also being withheld at this time. Manuel says the person in custody is a neighbor of the victim at an apartment complex in the city.
Mountain Home Police were called to the scene shortly before 11 Monday night to a report of a shooting. When they arrived, the victim was already deceased.
The Arkansas State Police are assisting Mountain Home Police with the investigation.
