Gassville City Park’s ball field will not open for games or practices this summer. Mayor Jeff Braim says after thorough review of the state’s requirements and directives for public facilities under the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision was reached to not open the field for the summer. Mayor Braim says city officials will later evaluate whether to open the field in the fall.Braim says city officials have decided the resources needed to operate under the state pandemic directives for participants, attendees and the concession stand are needed elsewhere. The mayor says, as a reminder, the city’s community center and pavilion will remain closed until the state moves into Phase 3 of the reopening of facilities and services.

On a positive note, Braim says yard sales resumed in Gassville last Friday. He says while there is not a charge to hold a yard sale, a city permit is required. Permits are available at Gassville City Hall.
