A Baxter County woman has been arrested for her part in the beating and robbery of a man in the county last fall. Thirty-three-year-old Tasheena Marie Bartelli of Briarcliff is facing two felony and two misdemeanor charges in connection with the case, which may have arisen because the victim was a suspect in another case involving a relative of Bartelli.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched Oct. 8 to the Sycamore Springs Road area near George’s Cove on Lake Norfork southeast of Mountain Home for a report of a man banging on doors of homes saying he had been mugged and asking for help.

Deputies found the man who told them he had received a Facebook message from a female he did knot know saying she was only going to be in the area for one night and wanted to meet some new friends and have a drink. They met at a location south of Mountain Home, and the victim then followed Bartelli to the George’s Cove area.

The victim says when they arrived, two men wearing black clothing and ski masks attacked him and took his cellphone and car keys. He told authorities after they beat him, the two men got into Bartelli’s car with her and left. The victim that night could not remember the name of the person who contacted him on Facebook, but said she was 30-40 years old with blonde hair, wore glasses, had a gap between her front teeth and had a big head.

The day after the attack, the victim met with law enforcement again and said the two men that assaulted him used a metal pipe to repeatedly strike him and had gotten into his car to take his keys. He also provided deputies with Bartelli’s name and the interaction the two had on Facebook.

It was later determined Bartelli is the aunt of a victim in another case where the individual of the Oct. 8 incident was a suspect. Authorities believe the two cases are connected.

Authorities are still trying to determine the identities of the two men who attacked the victim.

Bartelli had been living out of the area and recently returned. She learned there was a warrant for her arrest and turned herself in at the Baxter County Detention Center Thursday night. She is charged with aggravated robbery, a  Class Y felony, the most serious crime classification in Arkansas not punishable by death; a felony count of battery in the second degree; misdemeanor counts of theft of property and interference with a communication device; and being a habitual offender, which carries a penalty enhancement. She is being held on bonds totaling $50,000 and  is scheduled to appear in circuit court June 18.
