A Marion County man, 19-year-old Andy Wayne Baker Jr. of Bull Shoals, has been arrested following a report to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office of “someone looking through cars.”

According to a sheriff’s office incident report, at 10:40 Thursday evening, law enforcement responded to a caller at a residence along U.S. Highway 62 East in the Henderson area. The caller said she was asleep in her home when she heard a car door close. When she looked out the window, she reported seeing a shirtless male searching through her vehicles. She yelled, “Get the gun, someone is in my car.”

When the woman began clicking the door locks of the residence, the male, later identified as Baker, ran down the highway toward Mountain Home.

A second call to the sheriff’s office advised a shirtless male was walking down the middle of the road near the Crystal Cove resort sign. He was reportedly flagging down vehicles attempting to secure a ride.

Deputies found the shirtless male waving while sitting on a bench at Graceland Court. He told the deputies a friend had dropped him off. Law enforcement reported he smelled of intoxicants and was mumbling without making sense. He asked for a ride to Mountain Home so he could get a place to sleep.

He was taken into custody and has been charged with two counts of breaking or entering and single counts of theft of property and public intoxication. Online jail records indicate his bond has been set at $5,000.

The female victim reported nothing was missing from her vehicles. However, when law enforcement checked to see if forced entry had been made, a game camera belonging to the woman’s husband was found in the roadway where it appeared the suspect had dropped it while running.
