A Flippin man is in the Baxter County Detention Center accused of sexual contact with a minor female. Nineteen-year-old Matthew Mears was booked late Thursday afternoon on felony counts of second-degree sexual assault and sexual indecency with a child.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a female arrived at the Gassville Police Department March 30 with Mears. Mears reportedly gave a confession and a written statement to the alleged sexual indecency.
In his two interviews, Mears reportedly gave graphic details to his actions and the locations the contacts occurred between him and his 13-year-old victim. He originally admitted to two occasions, but in his second interview, he stated it occurred 10 to 12 times.
Mears’ bond is set at $10,000.
