A plane crash occurred Sunday morning at Gaston’s White River Resort near Lakeview. According to a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, no one was injured, and assistance from rescue personnel was canceled before they arrived on the scene. The plane sustained moderate damage from the crash.

The pilot, identified as 46-year-old Kyle Fink of Tuscola, Illinois, was the lone occupant of a Cessna 170 single engine plane attempting to take off from Gaston’s. Fink was reportedly unable to get the lift he needed, and his plane veered off the end of the runway to the left.

Further investigations will be conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
