A Fulton County man has been arrested after a weekend accident killed a highway construction worker in eastern Arkansas. Twenty-six-year-old Kristopher Gould of Mammoth Spring is being held in the Poinsett County jail on charges of negligent homicide, failure to maintain control and having an open alcohol container in the vehicle.

The accident Saturday night killed 22-year-old Preston Brayfield of Kansas City.

According to the preliminary fatal accident report from the Arkansas State Police, Gould’s vehicle crossed through the divider barrels along Interstate 555 near Tyronza and struck Brayfield. The vehicle then went off the left side of the roadway and overturned before coming to rest in a field.
