Hours of operation for Arkansas’ last public ferryboat have returned to their normal schedule, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Hours of operation for the Peel Ferry in Marion County are 6:40 a.m. to 8:20 p.m.
In late march, ArDOT officials announced changes to the operating schedule for the Peel Ferry due to the coronavirus. During the reduced schedule, the ferry had no longer been operating on weekends.
The department continues to encourage social distancing practices and reminds travelers to remain in their vehicles while on the ferry. The number of motorcycles will be limited in order to remain 6 feet apart.
ARDOT officials are working closely with other state agencies and will continue to take measures as necessary to safeguard employees, the traveling public and Arkansas transportation infrastructure.
