A domestic disturbance has led to the arrest of Searcy County Judge Jim Harness. Judge Harness was arrested Friday night after reportedly being located at his estranged wife’s residence without her permission. He was transported to the Searcy County Detention Center after officers from the sheriff’s office and the Marshall Police Department responded to a 911 call.

According to a sheriff’s office spokesperson, the victim contacted dispatch shortly after 11 p.m. saying her estranged husband, identified as Harness, had forced his way into her residence on Arkansas Highway 27 South in Marshall. Law enforcement arrived and detained Harness. Evidence reportedly indicated the front door had been “kicked or forced in” and was inoperable.

Charges are pending against Harness, and the investigation is ongoing.
