SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) – A man who allegedly ran over a Springfield police officer before being shot is now charged with two felonies. Greene County prosecutors on Wednesday charged 28-year-old Jon Routh with assaulting a special victim and armed criminal action. Prosecutors allege Routh ran over Officer Mark Priebe Tuesday in the parking lot of Springfield police headquarters. Court documents say Priebe tried to get Routh to stop his vehicle after Routh urinated on the front door of the station but Routh accelerated and ran over Priebe. Another officer then shot Routh. Priebe remains hospitalized Wednesday. Routh was treated and then taken to Greene County Jail.
