Izard County Circuit Court records have been sealed in the case of 50-year-old Roger Johnson of Melbourne, charged with one count of rape, a Class Y felony. Class Y felonies are the most series classification of crime in Arkansas not punishable by death.

The online court file indicates Circuit Judge David E. Miller sealed the probable cause arrest affidavit. Probable cause affidavits provide details regarding arrests and charges.

In a brief online statement, Izard County Chief Deputy Charley Melton says Johnson was arrested Thursday. He says no further information will be released for the privacy of the victim.

Melton noted Johnson has a hold through Arkansas Community Corrections due to him being on active parole.
