Despite its annual charity golf tournament being canceled this year, Arvest Bank is accepting letters of request from area non-profit organizations to be considered for the 2020 Charity of the Year program. The program was created to lend financial support to local nonprofit organizations through the tournament, and since its inception, over $213,000 have been contributed to charities.

This year, the bank is partnering with its tournament co-sponsor, Genuine Care Pharmacy in Gassville, to commit three awards of $2,000 each to a nonprofit organization in Baxter, Marion and Boone counties. A committee of bank associates will select the recipients in each county.

Charities of the year are selected based on past, present and future financial needs and other criteria. Charities must be designated as 501(c)(3) organizations to qualify and must submit a letter to the committee explaining why their organization should be selected.

The deadline for applications in July 3. Nomination letters can be mailed to Arvest Bank Charity Committee, Attn: Jaren Beavers, P.O. Box 325, Yellville, AR 72687, or emailed to jbeavers@arvest.com.
