A resource officer in the Izard County School District has completed his officer training program. James Norton was recognized by Black River Technical College in Pocahontas for completing all 542 hours of training
Norton is one of two resource officers employed full-time by the district. He is stationed at Izard County Elementary School in Violet Hill, and Brett Stevenson works at the middle school and high school campus in Brockwell.
