Monday kicked off a busy Senior Celebration Week for Gainesville students with prom, culminating with graduation on Friday. The year-end events have been modified and delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. May 8 was the original date for graduation.
The senior baccalaureate service and senior awards ceremony is set for Wednesday evening at 5:30 in the high school gym.
Then, on Friday evening, Gainesville High School’s graduation will be held at 7:30 in Benton Breeding Stadium.
Project Graduation was cancelled this year due to concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Money raised for the event will be distributed to seniors based on points earned throughout the year. The funds will be given to the seniors at a reception in the cafeteria following graduation.
