Parole for a man who has been sent to prison on charges from Baxter, Carroll and Izard counties has been denied again.

Charges filed against 39-year-old Jared Holland through the years include sexual assault, intimidating a witness, aggravated assault on two occasions, possession of a firearm by a felon and possessing illegal drugs.

The most serious charges were filed against Holland in Carroll County when records show he was living in Berryville. He received a 12-year prison sentence for having inappropriate sexual contact with a 15-year-old close relative.

He was also alleged to have threatened to kill a family member if she ever told anyone what he had done.

Holland has been up for parole several times. His last hearing was held earlier this month, according to the Arkansas Parole Board.

According to court records, Holland’s first aggravated assault charge stemmed from an incident in 2005 in which he was alleged to have come to work at a Mountain Home nursing home after consuming both alcohol and drugs.

During the nursing home incident, Holland argued with another staff member, followed the person into a patient room and displayed a knife. He ran to his vehicle, but after a brief struggle, officers were able to take him into custody.

In October 2009, Holland was stopped in Izard County on an outstanding arrest warrant. When he was ordered out of the vehicle, he pulled a firearm and told law officers not to come any closer to him.

There were no shots fired, and Holland was taken into custody without further incident.

In December 2014, Holland was declared a fugitive, when he broke off contact with his parole officer. He was found almost two weeks later and arrested in Missouri.

Holland is an inmate in the Delta Regional Unit of the state prison system in Dermott.
