The Mountain Home School Board dealt with a busy agenda Thursday night for its June meeting, including 12 action items. Among them was the hiring of a new assistant superintendent. Caroline Nail was approved for the position. Nail is the principal at Sidney Deener Elementary School in Searcy. She will replace Leigh Anne Gigliotti who resigned to take a position in Siloam Springs.

The Arkansas Department of Education is requiring schools to establish a ready for learning committee, among other things, to help prepare for the reopening. Long shared with the board the six-item Mountain Home Public Schools Ready for Learning Action Plan.
