Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams presented the first-known “Key to the City” honor to Nickey Browning, head coach of the Pontotoc, Mississippi, Red Sox American Legion Baseball team in a surprise presentation Friday evening at Cooper Park.

Browning, who is also a state senator from Mississippi’s Third District, was chosen as the initial recipient for Adams’ new program to honor visitors who make an impact on the City of Mountain Home.

Adams explains why he chose Browning as the initial honoree.
