Big Creek Golf and Country Club has announced its match play club winners.
Fifth-seeded Matt Kelly won the Big Creek Men’s Open Match Play Club title. Kelly began the tournament by topping No. 12 seed Mike Machado 4 and 3 and later topped Lang Zimmerman 3 and 2 in the quarterfinals. After No. 8 seed Spencer Adams upset top-seeded Kyle Barton, Kelly beat Adams 4 and 3 to reach the title match against his usual partner, Brandon Maple. The match was all square through the 14th hole, but Kelly took three straight holes to win 3 and 1.
The Big Creek Super-Senior Men’s Match Play Club championship went to No. 2 seed Frank Davis. Davis defeated third-seeded Scot Symons 6 and 5 to reach the finals. Davis beat No. 1 seed Steve Smith 3 and 2.
