MH Rotary installs new board

The Rotary Club of Mountain Home held its installation of the board for 2020-2021 at its June 25 The new members are President Renae Schocke, President-elect Wes Wood, President-nominee Scott Sillence, members Tom Kiley and Stewart Brunner, plus Kriss Yunker who will remain on the board as immediate past president. Marilyn Loveless will continue as club secretary, and Allen Moore will remain as treasurer.

In her vision for the club’s coming year, Schocke discussed the line-up of responsibilities for board and committee chairmen.

President-elect Wes Wood will serve as pancake chairman and will be the board liaison for the scholarship committee chaired by Mike Heslep. President-nominee Scott Sillence will be in charge of the club newsletter and will be the board liaison for public relations, chaired by Brenda Nelson. Director Tom Kiley will be the program liaison and will be in charge of the club’s service projects, including vendors for the new City of Mountain Home concert series on Saturday nights at Rotary’s Hickory Park. Director and past president Stewart Brunner will be membership committee liaison.

Treasurer Allen Moore will remain in charge of the “Choices” project and the club’s Interact Clubs at both Mountain Home and Cotter high schools. Other youth services committees will be chaired by Jewel Pendergrass for “Don’t Meth with Us!,” while Rick Steiner will continue coordinating the “RYLA” program for area high school juniors.

Larry Nelson will remain as the club’s Rotary Foundation chairman, and Bruce Loveless will stay as club administrator. Jay Chafin will chair the dictionary deliveries; Mark Hopper will be in charge of the “Four Way Test” speech competition and will continue as chairman of the Past Presidents Council; Chris Carter will remain as club webmaster; Trevor Himschoot will perform the duties as Sergeant at Arms; and Robert Shurley will be collecting “In the News” articles for weekly meetings.

The club members look forward to another great Rotary year – “ordinary people doing extraordinary things in service to their community and their world.”
