Via a post on the Yellville City Park Facebook page, the City of Yellville has announced the reopening of the splash pad at the city park, effective Tuesday morning. The decision was made in a meeting of the park board Monday evening, after operational plans submitted to the Arkansas Department of Health were approved.”The splash pad will be open on a trial and limited basis and will be supervised by a deputy sheriff,” says the post by Lyn Baker, a park board member. “We reserve the right to close the pad at any time for any reason.”

An extensive set of requirements must be met to use the facility. Users must provide names and contact information for everyone in their group. Users will not be admitted without providing that information. Anyone that has had a fever for the last two days of 100.4 degrees or greater, has a cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, and/or had contact with a person known to be infected with COVID in the last 14 days will be denied entry.

All visitors must practice social distancing of 6 feet and wear a mask, especially for spectators. The pad will shut down every two hours for sanitizing and will be closed for one hour. Everyone must vacate the pad during sanitizing. Only 50 people will be allowed inside the fenced area of the splash pad at a one time.

Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with all normal splash pad rules in force.

“If we see that the guidelines are being ignored or your behavior is a risk to others, you will be asked to leave,” said the post. “We know the times and days are not ideal, but it’s the best we can do to at least get the pad open for you to enjoy. Please be kind and respectful of one another while enjoying the splash pad. Have fun and be safe!”
