The Mountain Home Planning Commission will consider the rezoning of five properties at the request of Baxter Regional Medical Center during its July meeting Monday afternoon at 1.

The properties to be considered are located at 704, 708 and 712 Broadmoor Street and 701 and 703 Long Street, according to the meeting agenda.

Attorney Ted Sanders will present the request to change the properties from Residential R-1 to Commercial C-3.

The change will allow the property to be developed as quiet retail service, which limits the district from housing business before 6 a.m. or after 6 p.m.

Permitted uses according to city statute include:

– retail or personal service business, professional business, office buildings, gift shops and sporting goods shops

– hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, doctor and dental clinics

– residential structures, permitted in residential districts, including multi-family dwellings

Prohibited uses are:

– motels or hotels, service stations, restaurants, liquor stores or car washes.
