A Missouri man, who ran from police, wrecked his vehicle, fled on foot, hid in a building and gave himself up the day after the chase entered a guilty plea to charges against him July 8 in Baxter County Circuit Court.

Thirty-seven-year-old James Gluck, who lists an address in Wappapello, ran into trouble in early April when he tried to run from a Mountain Home police officer.

He was sentenced by Circuit Judge Gordon Webb to six years probation.

The officer reported Gluck’s vehicle rolled through a stoplight and he activated his emergency lights, but Gluck didn’t stop.

He ran through stop signs and a red light, passed on double yellow lines and crossed into the opposing lane of traffic on several occasions, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Gluck finally lost control of his vehicle on U.S. Highway 62/412 East. After the accident, he fled on foot.

He is reported to have approached an Arkansas State Police trooper who was working the accident scene the next day.

Gluck told the trooper he stayed in the area all night, sleeping in an abandoned building.

He has been in the county jail since being arrested April 4. Gluck faced charges of fleeing, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
