A man who rented a U-Haul truck for a day in Sheridan, Wyoming, on March 5, but forgot to return it, was in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Fifty-eight-year-old Mark Alan Wilson was picked up by a Baxter County deputy sheriff in the stolen vehicle April 14.

The Sheridan (Wyoming) Police Department received a report from the rental agency April 1 that the cargo truck had been taken.

The information was reported to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).

The agency alleged Wilson and 45-year-old Richard Lee Underwood, who lists a Belgium, Wisconsin, address, were both listed on the rental contract.

The deputy spotted the truck on U.S. Highway 62/412 and stopped it, after confirming it was still reported as stolen by NCIC.

Wilson and Underwood were arrested.

Wilson was put on probation for five years and ordered to pay the rental agency slightly more than $8,300 in restitution.

Underwood entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him in late June. He is due back in circuit court in mid-October.
