The search for a Texas man missing in Newton County has ended tragically, after authorities discovered he had been involved in a fatal motorcycle accident. Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler says in a Facebook post the wreck was discovered on Arkansas State Highway 16 near Nail.
Law enforcement had been looking for 69-year-old Raymond Spring, after he texted his wife late Thursday night saying he was going for a ride on his motorcycle. A person he was staying with saw Spring ride away from the Deer area about 10 p.m., but he had not been seen since.
The Arkansas State Police is investigating the fatal accident.
