Teen injured after falling off tailgate of moving vehicle, driver charged

A teen from Ozark County was seriously injured, after he fell off the tailgate of a moving vehicle, and the driver has been charged in connection with the incident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol report says 19-year-old Cooper High of Gainesville was seriously injured in the accident early Saturday morning. He was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The incident happened at 1:20 when a truck driven by 18-year-old Tanner Jennings of Theodosia was traveling on Missouri State Highway W near Pontiac and High fell off the tailgate.

Jennings has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated causing physical injury to another, felony leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and minor in possession by consumption. He was released from the Ozark County jail, after posting bond.
