An Ozark County fugitive has been arrested, after he reportedly pushed a female out of his truck, rammed patrol units with his vehicle and fled on foot, while telling law enforcement he had a gun, as he reached for his hip area.

According to a Facebook post from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, officers learned 39-year-old John Davidson of Isabella was in the Grundy area on NN Highway on July 10.

Upon arrival, they observed a vehicle matching the description of a stolen truck in Taney County.

As the deputies pulled behind the suspect, later identified as Davidson, he pushed a female out of the truck and began ramming the patrol trucks, nearly striking one of the officers.

A pursuit ensued down NN Highway and onto a county road, where Davidson rammed through a gate and then pulled the truck he was driving into a field and fled on foot.

He was taken into custody, after briefly resisting arrest.

It was confirmed the truck was stolen, and a small amount of methamphetamine was allegedly found in his possession. The female left the area on foot and was not apprehended at the time.

Online court records indicate Davidson has been charged in Taney County with felony counts of first-degree burglary, tampering with a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle sounding a siren and displaying red/blue light.

The Facebook post notes he is also being held on two no bond warrants out of Arkansas for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; possession of controlled substance; habitual offender; possession of drugs and firearms; possession of firearms prohibited by certain person, meaning he is a convicted felon; possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia and possession of a defaced firearm.

Felony charges are also expected to be filed in Douglas County to include two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer (LEO) and a LEO K9, felony property damage, possession of methamphetamine and tampering with a motor vehicle.

In the days prior to the arrest, numerous law enforcement agencies were searching for Davidson with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, due to his charges and his violent history.
