Food bank remodeling tops June MH building permit list

A $1.5 million remodeling project at the new location for the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas topped the list of building permits issued by the City of Mountain Home in June, according to a report from Jeannie Anderson from the Building Inspection Department.

The food bank is relocating to a 19,200-square-foot facility at 1042 Highland Circle in Georgetown Square in the former Fred’s Discount building. The permit for the remodeling project was issued to Crownover Construction.

Also on the June list is a permit issued to Mark Bertel Jr. for a 384-square-foot laundry room at The Dels, located at 715 State Highway 5 North. Construction value of the project is $20,000. An online Facebook post indicates the laundry room is part of North Village, a tiny home complex.

A permit was issued to Jimmie Kasinger for an office and laundry room located at 424 County Road 390. The 850-square-foot project has a construction value of $20,000.

A permit was issued to Bentley Glover for a garage addition at 811 Locust Street. The 360-square-foot project has a construction value of $12,000.

Permits were issued for two storage buildings. The first went to Doug Collard to be located at 1414 Ashley Street. The 200-square-foot project has a construction value of $3,500. The second went to Stephen Pace to be located at 1115 Spring Branch Terrace. The 120-square-foot project has a construction value of $3,000.

A permit for a carport to be constructed at 1302 Grace Lane was issued to Gary Stephens. The 740-square-foot project has a construction value of $3,000.

Five sign permits rounded out the list of building permits.

Topping the list in value was a permit to A2Z Signs and More for Buncles Brick Oven & Brews, located at 1406 U.S. Highway 62 East. The construction value of the project is $25,000.

A sign permit was issued to Dijohn Designs for AeroCare Home Medical, located at 2 Medical Plaza. The construction value of the project is $1,150.

A sign permit was issued to Dijon Designs for Care Center Ministries, located at 734 Thorn Street. The construction value of the project is $630.

The fourth sign permit was issued to DEP Asphalt Maintenance, located at 315 East Ninth Street. The construction value of the project is $400.

The final sign permit was issued to Sleep Mart, located at 701 U.S. Highway 62 East. The construction value of the project is $150.

Total construction value of the 12 permits issued in June was $1.588 million.

The cost of all permits issued for the month of June totaled $4,125, including the actual cost of building, electric, mechanical and plumbing permits, along with $125 in mowing fees.

The city building and inspection department handled 58 inspections for the month.
