A Calico Rock man wanted on numerous warrants was found with drugs and weapons, after he was stopped in a vehicle on Jordan Road Sunday evening.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jamie Lee Southard is being held on four felony bench warrants and two misdemeanor failure to appear warrants, along with felony charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with purpose to deliver; simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms; two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; two counts of possession of firearms by certain persons, meaning he is a convicted felon; and a felony probation violation.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says bond on the drug and weapons charges is set at $25,000, but Southard is on a no-bond hold for the warrants probation violation.

On Sunday evening, Montgomery says two deputies from his office were at a location on Jordan Road to assist a bail bond recovery agent. The deputies were told a red vehicle had left the residence approximately 10 minutes before they arrived. While in the residence, the lawmen saw the same vehicle drive past the location.

Deputies began to follow the vehicle, until it turned into a private drive and pulled up to a closed privacy gate. Montgomery says Southard was identified as the driver and three others were in the car, as well. The deputies detected a strong odor of burned marijuana coming from the vehicle, and all occupants were removed from the car.

Southard was allegedly found to have approximately 5.6 grams of marijuana and a pipe on his person, as well as two containers with an approximate total of 4.5 grams of meth. Officers continued to search Southard and located a pair of brass knuckles, and as he was being cuffed and arrested, the man told the deputies he had a pistol hidden in the small of his back. The weapon was a fully loaded, .22 caliber pistol.

The other three occupants of the vehicle were released, after a search by authorities.
